Managing User Accounts - Administrative Perspective

Managing user accounts effectively in OnRent Events is crucial for maintaining access and security. This section provides step-by-step instructions for administrators to update a user's email address and reset their password.

Steps for Updating Email Address and Resetting Password

Follow these steps to edit a user’s email and reset their password as an administrator:

  • Navigate to User Management: Go to System Setup > Users.

  • Select the User: Locate the user whose details you need to update. Use the edit option (e.g., clicking the arrow or button next to their name) to open their profile.

  • Edit Email Address: Update the email address field with the new email.

  • Reset Password: After updating the email, select the option to reset their password. This ensures the user can log in with the updated email securely.

  • Alternative Approach: Deactivating and Replacing Accounts. If the user is being replaced or you need a clean slate, you can also:

  • Make the existing user inactive.

  • Create a new user account for the replacement user. This method is especially useful for role transitions or when a fresh start is needed.

Password entry is an important security measure. By requiring a password for certain actions, we ensure that your data remains safe and secure. Whether you're updating users' accounts as an administrator or resetting your password, these practices are crucial for maintaining security.
