Understanding How OnRent Events Is Hosted and Secured

Information on how we host and manage your system to ensure a continuous uptime.

Updated yesterday

OnRent Events is a fully hosted SaaS (Software as a Service) system, which means there’s nothing for you to install or maintain locally. The entire system is securely hosted in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud, giving you reliable access from virtually anywhere.

Accessing Your System

You can use OnRent Events on any device that has:

  • A modern, up-to-date web browser

  • A stable and consistent internet connection

As OnRent Events is cloud-based, you can log in and use it anywhere — whether you’re in the office, at the warehouse, or on the go.

We recommend using the latest versions of major browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. Always make sure your browser is updated to ensure the best experience and security.

Supported Devices

  • Desktop and laptop: Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, and Linux computers

  • Mobile devices: iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, and even Windows phones

The system automatically adjusts to your screen size, so you won’t need to pinch or scroll to view your content.

⚠️ Note: We can’t guarantee compatibility with older devices or outdated browsers. Older technology often runs on deprecated frameworks or unsupported browser versions, which may cause functionality issues.

Where do we host the system?

OnRent Events is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the world’s leading cloud providers. AWS ensures high availability, strong security, and global redundancy.

How do we ensure reliability and continuity?

One of the main advantages of a cloud-hosted SaaS system is automatic continuity. AWS is designed with redundancy and failover systems that automatically redirect operations to other working servers if one becomes unavailable. This setup minimises the risk of downtime and helps ensure your data remains safe and accessible.

While AWS doesn’t publish a specific article on their internal disaster recovery plan, you can read more about their approach here:

How do we manage Backups and Security?

We take data protection and system security seriously. To minimise any risk of data loss, we perform a full backup of the system every day at 5 a.m. BST to protect your data from unexpected issues. These backups help ensure we can restore your system quickly if needed.

At OnRent Events, your security is our top priority. Our team works continuously to release regular security updates to both the OnRent Events platform and the API, ensuring your data and integrations stay protected against emerging threats.

We also perform routine system maintenance and vulnerability checks to strengthen the platform’s defences and enhance performance. This ongoing approach helps ensure your system remains safe, stable, and fully up to date.
