How does Pay-by-Link work?

The pay-by-link feature is available from the invoices module, which means there must be an existing invoice from which you can send the payment link.

You will first need to enable Include Payment URL" on your invoice documents.

1. Go to System Setup

2. Document Layouts

3. Edit your invoice by clicking the blue drop-down

4. Enable "Include Payment URL"

When you have successfully integrated with Klipboard Money, you will get the option to “view payment link” under the Actions section of your invoices. If your OnRent Events is integrated with an accounts solution, you will first need to post the invoice, and only then will you have the option to view the payment link.

You can edit your invoice documents to enable "online publishing" for the payment URL to be added to your documents. You can copy the payment URL to send from your mailbox outside of OnRent Events, or send the link as a Discussion from OnRent Events.

How do my customers use the link to make payments?

Once your customers receive the link, this is what they will see upon clicking on the link:

Clicking the "Pay Here" button will redirect your customers to the Klipboard Money payment page, where they will type in their card details.

Your customers will enter their card details and proceed to complete the payment. Once the payment has been completed, they will see the screen below, which displays the payment status, indicating whether it was successful or if it failed.

Suppose you are integrated with an accounts solution. In that case, the invoice status will be updated almost instantly to "Paid" when your customer has made the payment, or "Awaiting Payment" if the customer hasn't paid yet.

If you don't have an integration with an accounts solution, you will see the payment status and reference in the Transactions section.

How can I track payment statuses of my invoices?

A new screen has been added to the system, from which you can track all invoice payment statuses. Head to Opportunities> Payments, then filter by date range, customer account, document number, reference number, or invoice status.

How do I refund payments made through pay-by-link?

The refund process works the same way as it does for any invoice raised through OnRent Events. Under the Actions section of the invoice, there is an option to credit the invoice.

When you click "credit this invoice", a credit note will be created, which you can issue and post to your accounts solution, if integrated.

When a transaction is credited/ refunded, the transaction processing fee is also refunded. Klipboard Money does charge a refund fee for credits/ refunds processed.
