Save important documents, pictures, and other files right where you need them against the relevant page in Current RMS by using attachments.

You’ll see the “Attachments” heading on a variety of screens in Current. It’s generally towards the bottom of the page.

Where can you add attachments?

Attachments can be added throughout Current RMS:

Why use attachments?

Different businesses work in different ways, but here are some common uses of attachments:

  • Product manuals
Add PDF copies of product manuals to your product pages. If you use the barcodes generated by Current RMS, simply scan the QR code with your phone to jump to the product page on your device where you can grab your attachment there and then. You may need to log in to Current RMS if you’re not already logged in.

  • Evidence of damage
Add photographs to quarantines to record evidence of damage caused by your customers. Pictures added are pulled through to the default quarantine note.

  • Floor plans
Upload PDF copies of floor plans to your venues.

  • Opportunity ideas or after shots
Save pictures or videos that your client has sent you for inspiration for an event, or take photos of how things looked onsite after setup for posterity.

Is there a limit on how much I can upload?

Current RMS is fully scalable and we provide unlimited data hosting, so there’s no overall limit on how many attachments you can add or storage quota.

There’s a limit of 100MB per individual attachment. Upload times may vary depending on your internet connection.

Add attachments

To upload attachments, head to the page in Current RMS where you’d like to add your attachment and click add a new attachment under the Attachments heading.

Then, fill out the details on the Create attachment screen:

  • Name
The name of this attachment. You’ll see this in the list of attachments once uploaded.

  • Description
Provide some notes to describe this attachment. This is optional.

Choose file

There are two ways to attach files:

  • Upload a file from your local device
Hit the choose file button and browse.

  • Provide a link
Copy and paste the link to a publicly accessible resource online. Current RMS will fetch a copy of the file and save it to your system.

Hit the blue Create Attachment button when you’re done.

Provide a link

When providing a link, keep in mind:

  • The file must be to a publicly accessible resource, i.e. a direct download.

  • If the file requires a login or redirects to a download page, e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. then Current RMS can’t fetch the resource.

  • Current RMS will fetch a copy of the file and save it on your system; it does not create a shortcut to the file on the server.

  • Generally, files stored on Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or other sharing services won’t allow direct downloads.

If you’d like to create a simple link to a folder or file on a file sharing service, you might be best to create a discussion against the record. Discussions with no participants are a great way to log notes – simply create a discussion and pop in any links you require.

Edit or delete an attachment

Once uploaded, click the blue arrow to the right of an attachment to edit or delete it.
