  1. Free scan items in

    I would like to see a function where we could free scan items in from opportunities. We constantly have multiple shows coming back at the same time and have shows that have multiple orders on them that tend to get mixed up on site. It can be quite a hassle to go to from one opportunity to the next trying to figure out where certain items came from. It would be nice if an item was just free scanned in and was automatically checked in from whichever opportunity it was on.

    • Version numbers on quotes

      I'd really like to see version numbers appear on updated quotes. This helps the customer when they've ammended several times. When discussing they can state the version number such as quote #123 version 2. Or quote #123.2, #123.3 etc.
      This is standard on a lot of other platforms and is very helpful during negotiation prior to confirmation.
      It would also be useful to revert an order to a quote. As people change their minds a lot.

        Thanks for the suggestion, we’ll keep an eye on the number of votes on this one.

        One thing that might help in the meantime is customizing your document layouts to include a date stamp. You can use this as a point of reference when dealing with different revisions.

        To add a date stamp, the Liquid you’ll need is {% 'now' %}. Use date filters to change how the date is formatted.

      • Calendar Improvements

        The integration of the Resource Planner and Activities Calendar is great and being able to add more than one person to an Activity and have the ability to show it in the Resource Planner is very handy for us. However there are a few improvements that I think would be welcomed:
        1: Ability to schedule reoccurring appointments - e.g. we have a weekly managers meeting and have to put each one in separately but it always happens at the same time/day every week.         • Projects numbered as default, opportunities to have sub identifiers

          It would be useful if projects were numbered as default and the opportunities created within the project had sub identifiers. It becomes confusing for accounts and logistics when there are multiple different job numbers within a project due to a variety of opportunities created all being allocated their own unique identifiers. It would be useful if the project carried the "parent" identifier and all the opportunities carried the "parent" plus a unique suffix.

          The system could work in the following way - Quote Created (Job number allocated - JB0666). Quote Accepted. Quote Confirmed as Order and converted to project. (JB0666).…

            In the meantime, using an auto-number custom field against your project might help here.

            An auto-number counts up each time you create a new record. You could set up a custom field called “Project Number” or something similar as an auto-number and Current RMS will count up each time you create a new project. As with most custom fields, we can display this custom field on any project documents generated.

          • Combined Job Planner & Resource Planner Calendar View

            A combined Job and Resource calendar view would be extremely useful so that we can have a large screen in the warehouse displaying a 'Full Screen' browser window of this calendar so that all the warehouse staff / technicians and freelancers (who don't all have Current RMS login ID's) can see jobs coming up that need prepping or which jobs they have been allocated on etc.
            So a modification to the present 'Job Planner' Page which has a toggle to auto-size fill the height of the screen with every job (within the date range selected - week/month etc)

              So you've got a Cable Trunk that is barcoded CT001

              You assign that as the container as you scan all the cables in to it.

              When it comes to 'Book Out' I have to rescan all those cables...what a pain!

              I'd like to just scan the case barcode and everything in that container is scanned out of the warehouse.

              • Increased Transfer Frequency

                I would like to transfer assets more frequently than daily. At this time, I am only able to transfer an asset once per day. This affects availability if I push to transfer an asset day after day into the future. I would prefer to be able to transfer assets at any time, and have the status history show timestamps of these transfers, in real time.

                • Change the shortage range date for the dashboard widget

                  See the upcoming shortages is very handy however we often have opportunities that are 12 months or more away which show a sale stock shortage. We don't need to know about this until a couple of months before as there is no point holding extra sales stock for something that's happening a year away.

                  So it would be good to toggle the shortage range on the dashboard to show for example what's short in the next 2 months.

                  I did think about asking for a toggle on/off for sale items like the services but this is just going to lead…

                    I work regularly with a PA company that also uses Current for their inventory management. It would be incredibly useful to be able to submit a 'soft' enquiry directly into their system, that they could then confirm or modify. It seems a bit long winded both companies having to communicate outside of current and then create separate jobs for the same event. Ideally we could create a collaborative job that we can both view and add equipment to. This would remove a lot of ambiguity from the sub rental process and help speed up the rental process.

                      Instead of formal "discussions" a nice way to speed up work flow might be to have a chat function with the ability to see what other users are currently online?

                        In House Live Chat For Quick Easy Question To Departments

                        - Our warehouse team are not allowed to sit on the computer through out the day, There is a big plasma on our wall of which they work from and use for packaging and notes. Should we send them a discussion or Activity they may not see it for up to 20 minuets sometimes longer.

                        When asking a simple question to our warehouse team from the office for example stock levels, General tasks it would be nice to have a live chat like we have when talking to your staff.

                          Our current stock management system has the ability to create pick lists of an infinite number of parts for many different types of marquees and associated equipment, but is not cloud based. Would you be interested in creating such a system in Current for marquee companies if we could assist in creating the formulas/data entry of components?

                              We use the Xero integration to post invoices but it is absolutely needed to be able to post quotes and orders and draft invoices so that they can be tracked and modified.

                                I would really like to see direct integration with thermal barcode printers. We will be printing large quantities of barcode labels at times and the current way of doing it is not going to cut it in those situations. As it stands now we will be creating/managing/printing those labels completely externally of Current.

                                Zebra have a very good API not specifically for this kind of integration that allows cloud hosted applications like Current to print directly to the printer. Having integration with this would be fantastic, create a new assets and magically out pops the correct barcode label.

                                • Online STORE - Rental Shopping Cart - for customers to initiate orders

                                  We are desperate to see development of a way for our customers to initiate their gear hire orders and requests online.

                                  This could be on our own web site or perhaps more easily managed as a subdomain of our site hosted via current RMS.

                                  It would seem crazy to have to develop this via an external system like Magento via the newly available API when 90% of it would be reinventing the wheel with data etc already in current.

                                    the possibility of having a dropdown menu in "Create Opportunity Item" and "Product Picker" in which you select which stores Products you want to see. so I only see the products that are at this location!

                                    (so if there isn't created stock in Stock Levelsi i can't see it)

                                    the opportunities in the dropdown could be "store 1, store 2 or ALL" and should be saved to the profile.

                                      It would be handy to be able to do a physical inventory within Current. I'm surprised it's not already a feature.

                                        It would make integration with external applications much easier if we could define outgoing we hooks that Current would hit every time a specific set of criteria is hit. Ideally with a JSON payload of defined data about that event. At the moment I am having to poll the api for changes which is a pretty inefficient way of achieving things.

                                        • Default Start Time For Contract

                                          I would like the ability to set a default start time for the opportunity. 8am is rather arbitrary and not practical when we turn much of inventory overnight, it isn't ready by 8am. Also, our winter hours don't even have us open until 9am so we have to change every contract. Can it be part of a rate definition?
