You may have heard of Peppol, Veritas, or other terms for e-invoicing in different European countries. The name can vary from country to country, but the requirements for e-invoicing are essentially the same across Europe.
E-invoicing stands for electronic invoicing. It's a way of sending and receiving invoices electronically, in a standardised format. This means your invoices meet local tax and reporting rules automatically.
As technology continues to innovate, electronic invoicing emerges as a significant time-saver. Rather than creating, printing, or hand-writing invoices, using an electronically accepted format streamlines the process, saving time and effort for everyone involved.
How we're staying compliant:
E-invoicing will become mandatory in many parts of Europe. To help you stay compliant, we’re building a new invoice export option that will allow you to:
Export your invoices in an e-invoicing-compatible format
Meet local e-invoicing regulations
Continue using our platform without switching providers
This will give you everything you need to continue submitting your invoices.
What we’re working on:
Invoice export
This is a manual export specifically designed for systems and third parties that handle e-invoicing.
The process allows you to download an invoice export, upload it to software that manages e-invoicing, and send it through the appropriate channels. The export uses a canonical XML format, which is widely recognised and readable.
This is a manual process requiring middleware to bridge the gap. You may already be in the process of setting it up or searching for the right solution. Essentially, middleware is third-party software that facilitates the export of your e-invoices and manages their sending and receiving.
Many solutions are available, and we've ensured that our invoice export is compatible with a variety of e-invoicing systems.
If you're unsure which solution is the best fit for your needs, we have partnered with a middleware system called | D Soft | e-invoicing. We are collaborating with them to build the export and conduct testing to ensure its effectiveness. Our long-term vision is to establish a fully native integration with D-Soft.
D-Soft - Coming later
D-soft is a middleware that we've partnered with for a full end-to-end e-invoicing integration that connects to e-invoicing systems, e.g. Peppol.
Essentially, this will allow you to integrate with OnRent Events, then send the e-invoices through the integration, and it will handle the rest of the process seamlessly.
We're working with the D-Soft team on scoping this out and how to integrate this with OnRent Events.
What do you need to do?
There's nothing we need from you — we’re on top of it. We’ll let you know as soon as the new export feature is live.
When the integration is available, you’ll be able to manage everything directly within the platform.
